Due to the 1976 Act of Regional Rural Banks, passed by the Government of India, a number of gramin banks came up in the country. In the year 2013, it was decided that the Baroda Rajasthan Gramin Bank would be merged with two other Gramin banks of Rajasthan, namely Rajasthan Gramin Bank and Hadoti Kshetriya Gramin Bank. Together, these three would be named as Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank, with headquarters in Ajmer and sponsorship by Bank of Baroda.
